A man accused of base jumping from two Auckland buildings has appeared in court.
Ilies Nait El Cadi, from Belgium, appeared in the Auckland District Court today on two burglary charges in relation to base jumping incidents in central Auckland.
He did not enter a plea and has been remanded on bail.
Base jumping is not illegal but the circumstances around what has taken place determine what action is taken at the time.
The charges allege the 22-year-old entered Hotel Indigo on Albert Street last Tuesday and the under-construction Seascape Tower on Custom Street West in June without authority and with intent to commit an imprisonable offence.

Firefighters smashed a glass panel worth $20,000 to reach him 23 floors up Hotel Indigo last Tuesday night after he became stuck.
He later told 1News the jump didn't go as planned when his parachute became stuck and twisted on the outside of the building.
Police allege he is the same peson who filmed himself leaping 187 metres from the Seascape Tower on June 25 and posted it online at the start of this month.
Inspector Grae Anderson said shortly after the latest incident the man's actions were unacceptable.
"Now instead of leaving New Zealand and carrying on with his travel plans he will stay here and face the consequences of his actions."
He will reappear next Monday.
