The Duchess of Sussex has been confirmed for a new television venture in Australia this year.
Network 10 today announced Meghan Markle as one of the co-hosts on a rebooted season of Junior MasterChef, due to air in 2027.
"The much-loved series will see Poh Ling Yeow joined by special guest Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, as they help guide the next generation of young culinary talent," a spokesperson said.
The competitive cooking show was a spin-off from MasterChef Australia, itself an adaptation of the British show MasterChef, featuring contestants aged eight to 12.
Meghan said it was an "easy yes" when she was asked to join the show, months after appearing as a guest judge on the regular season in April this year.
"I had an incredible time with the whole team at MasterChef this past April so, when they approached me to come back and work with this young group of talent, it was an easy yes," the duchess said in a statement through Network 10.
"I love cooking with my own kids, so seeing what these young stars create in the kitchen is going to be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see what they cook up," she added.
Filming for the show is due to begin after Christmas in Melbourne – where Markle will be based for the duration of filming. Her children Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5 may join her.
The news followed a turbulent week as Meghan said she was "deeply distressed" by allegations involving her estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr, and revealed police shared a 2018 letter containing disturbing claims about him.
A day later, UK police confirmed they passed the letter to Harry and Meghan's office but did not share the allegations with other law enforcement agencies, and were now reviewing how the matter was handled.
The Duke and Duchess have been in front of the cameras frequently throughout their relationship, including entire Netflix shows built around their lives in the US.
The announced television gig follows the pair's first joint public appearances since their shock return to the UK, visiting three Nottingham charities as they worked to rebuild their profile.
The couple remained non-working royals, but Harry recently signalled his desire to repair ties with King Charles and the wider royal family.
