Police are responding to an incident in Palmerston North this afternoon.
Cordons are currently in place on Wilson Cres in Highbury, Inspector Phil Ward said.
Members of the public have been advised to avoid the area.
"Locals can expect to see an increased police presence in the area this afternoon," Ward said.
"There is not believed to be any risk to the public at this time."
