Emergency services are responding to a capsized boat off Tangimoana Beach on the Manawatū coast.
Police were first made aware of the incident at 8.35am, with emergency services attending the scene.
St John sent two ambulances, an operations manager and a rapid response vehicle.
"One patient has been transported to Palmerston North Hospital in a moderate condition."
Fire and Emergency NZ responded with one crew from Tangimoana.
Tangimoana, located at the mouth of the Rangitikei River, is around 30km west of Palmerston North.
Coastguard have been contacted for comment.
