More than a dozen Auckland prison staff arrested in 'wider' police operation
Fourteen staff across two Auckland prisons have been arrested as part of a police operation in the city.
The Department of Corrections confirmed nine staff at the Mt Eden Corrections Facility had been taken into custody.
Serco also confirmed five reintegration officers at the Kohuora Auckland South Corrections Facility had also been arrested following the investigation, which a spokesperson said "spanned across corrections sites in Auckland".

A South Island supermarket has placed the ashes of a long-serving staff member into the foundations of its new store.
New World Stoke said Dianne Hodson, who worked as its freezer manager for 30 years, was "the heart of the team" and had left a lasting impression on staff and customers alike.

Some rules around heavy vehicles are being permanently loosened as the Government confirms new changes to cut fuel use amid the global energy supply shock.
Ministers confirmed today some regulatory changes would take permanent effect soon, while measures such as allowing heavier trucking loads had been assigned to higher fuel response phases and would be activated only if conditions worsened.
