Government reveals worst case oil shock economic scenarios for New Zealand
The Finance Minister insists the Middle East oil crisis will only "delay, not derail" New Zealand's economic recovery, as officials take the unusual step of reopening Budget forecasts amid wild swings in global energy markets.
Speaking at a media briefing in her Beehive office, Nicola Willis said Treasury had decided to reopen its economic forecasts ahead of next month's Budget, reflecting the volatility of oil prices since the conflict began.
Labour Party to back India free trade deal but still has reservations
The Labour Party says it will support the India free trade agreement but has reservations.
New Zealand First had opposed the agreement and that meant National and ACT required the support of Labour to pass legislation allowing the deal.

National Party Minister Chris Bishop says it would have been "helpful" if chief whip Stuart Smith had said he hadn't sought a meeting with Prime Minister Christopher Luxon over support issues sooner.
He said the saga around Smith and caucus was "not a tidy situation", calling it "pretty frustrating all round".
