US citizens urged to leave Middle East as NZ MPs debate war
Conflict was sparked over the weekend when the US and Israel launched a major military operation against Iran which killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In Iran, more than 550 people have been killed in the strikes
Tehran fired missiles at Israel and Gulf Arab states in a counteroffensive that killed six US service members. Today, Americans in the Middle East were urged to "DEPART NOW".

Ex-Gloriavale leader Howard Temple wins sentence appeal, won't go to jail
The former leader of Gloriavale has won an appeal he took after being sentenced for sexual offending against young girls and will no longer be jailed.
Howard Temple, 85, pleaded guilty to 12 charges, including indecent assault, involving young women and girls between 2002 and 2022.
He was sentenced to 26 months imprisonment in December but took an appeal to the High Court, with his lawyer arguing that the punishment was "too excessive".
Jevon McSkimming hosted woman in police-funded hotel rooms - IPCA
Disgraced ex-top cop Jevon McSkimming used police-funded Wellington hotel rooms to host a woman he had been having a secret relationship with on up to 10 occasions, findings from an investigation have found.
The Independent Police Conduct Authority (IPCA) has released findings from its probe into McSkimming's use of police-paid Wellington accommodation, primarily in 2016, alongside its oversight of two criminal investigations into the former senior officer.
