A person was taken to hospital as More than a dozen fire crews battled a blaze at a commercial building in Wiri, with large plumes of smoke drifting over parts of South Auckland.
The blaze, which was reported around 9.30am, has sent smoke drifting across nearby suburbs.
"The fire is contained now and the amount of smoke is reducing, but the advice to avoid exposure is still the same," a Fire and Emergency spokesperson said just before 11am.
A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said two ambulances, one operations manager, and one rapid response vehicle were at the scene.
Two people were assessed at the scene, with one taken to Middlemore Hospital in a moderate condition. The other was treated for minor injuries.
Roscommon Rd has been closed with police cordons in place at the intersections with Wiri Station Rd and Cavendish Dr.

FENZ has warned of smoke exposure risks in the area.
"People are advised to avoid exposure to the smoke by shutting doors and windows, turning off air conditioning and staying indoors where possible," a spokesperson said.
Motorists have been urged by police to take alternative routes and expect delays as firefighters continue to respond to the fire.
About 15 crews and fire trucks are at the site or on their way, FENZ said.
