Crews from across Akl called to blaze in Albany

Multiple crews responded to a fire in Auckland overnight.

Emergency services were called to the commercial building in Albany at around 9.50pm.

Ten crews from East Coast Bays, West Harbour, Greenhithe, Auckland City, Te Atatu, Silverdale, Avondale, Otahuhu, Manly, Albany, RNZAF Base Auckland F5204, and Devonport responded to the blaze.

Ten crews from across the city were called to the scene of the blaze at Massey University.

"On arrival, FENZ found the 20 by 20 metre building well involved in fire," a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesperson said.

Crews spent the next few hours working to put out the flames. The fire was extinguished, and crews left the scene at around 1.30am.

"There were no reports of injuries, or if it is suspicious."
