One in critical condition after sand dune collapse in Auckland

One person is in critical condition after they were trapped under a collapsed sand dune at Muriwai Beach on Auckland's west coast.

Police said it was called to the incident at 5pm.

"The person has been airlifted to hospital in critical condition."
