A person has died following a workplace incident at the Ports of Auckland this morning.

Police confirmed to 1 NEWS this morning emergency services were alerted to the fatal incident at approximately 2.15am.

A police spokesperson added WorkSafe has been advised.

Inquires into the death are ongoing.
