Victoria Beckham has spoken publicly for the first time about tensions within her family, saying that she and her husband David Beckham have always tried to put their children first.
The comments follow an explosive social media post earlier this year from the pair's eldest son Brooklyn Beckham, who alleged a breakdown in his relationship with his parents.
He said he "did not want to reconcile" with them.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Victoria Beckham said the couple's priority had always been protecting their family, despite decades in the spotlight.
"We've always tried to be the best parents that we can be," she said.
"And you know, we've been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we've ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children."
Brooklyn's six-page statement on Instagram claimed his parents had tried to ruin his marriage to Nicola Peltz and accused them of placing too much importance on the family brand.
“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into," he said.
“Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”

He also raised concerns about events surrounding his 2022 wedding, including last-minute changes to Peltz's dress and claimed his mother had "hijacked" his first dance with his wife.
Victoria Beckham's comments come after she acknowledged Brooklyn's birthday on social media last month but had not previously addressed the situation directly.
David Beckham has not commented directly on the allegations, though he spoke generally about the impacts of social media at a panel shortly after Brooklyn's statement.
"Children are allowed to make mistakes. That's how they learn," he said.
"That’s what I try to teach my kids. But you know, you have to sometimes let them make those mistakes as well."
