Kiwi mixed martial artist Israel Adesanya, nicknamed The Last Stylebender, has had his wish granted by UFC president Dana White and will be headlining The Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale in July.
The UFC announced today that Nigeria-born fighter Adesanya will take on middleweight veteran Brad Tavares on July 6 at Pearl Theatre in Las Vegas.
Adesanya kept his MMA record unblemished last month at UFC Fight Night in Arizona after winning by split decision over Marvin Vettori.
The 28-year-old from Auckland wasn’t pleased with his performance and pleaded with UFC president White to book him another fight in the octagon as soon as possible.
His opponent Tavares is an American fighter based in Hawaii and is ranked number 10 in the middleweight division.
Adesanya has an unbeaten record in MMA with 13 wins, as well as two wins in the UFC.
