New Zealand Olympic great Dame Lisa Carrington is pregnant.
The eight-time canoe sprint Olympic gold medallist and her husband Michael 'Bucky' Buck made the announcement on social media today.
"This is some of the greatest news I’ve ever shared… Bucky and I are expecting!
"We are so ready for this next chapter and couldn’t be more excited to begin our journey into parenthood."
Dame Lisa, 36, is due in September, but plans on racing at the World Cup in Europe next month.
She won't race at the 2026 world champs, but was still aiming for the LA 2028 Olympic Games.
"Pregnancy so far has been a real learning curve - but feeling very lucky and very excited for what’s to come."
She added that their dog Colin was "very excited about becoming a big brother".
