A cyclist who died in a crash with a car near Christchurch on Friday has been named, as police continued to seek the driver of a small white hatchback.
On October 9, emergency services were called to Dyers Pass Rd in Governors Bay at around 10.20am after receiving reports of a crash.
A cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was today named as 79-year-old Michael James Hancock of Christchurch.
Police were continuing to appeal to the driver of a small white hatchback who officers believe may have information that could assist in the investigation.
The driver had been travelling south on Dyers Pass Rd towards Governors Bay at the time of the incident.
Anyone with information, CCTV or dash cam footage was asked to contact police on 105.
