A person has died and another has been injured following a crash on Te Puke Highway this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene near the corner of Rangiuru Rd around 10.50am.
"One person was pronounced deceased at the scene," police said.
A second person was taken to Tauranga Hospital in a serious condition, Hato Hone St John said.
St John responded with one ambulance, one rapid response unit, one operations manager and a helicopter.

The road was closed and diversions were in place while police investigated the circumstances behind the crash.
The serious crash unit had been advised.
Motorists were encouraged to avoid the area if possible and expect delays.
