Police appeal after two injured in South Auckland assault

Police are appealing for information following a serious assault in South Auckland yesterday, which left two people injured, including one critically.

Emergency services were called to Harwell Pl in Māngere following reports of an altercation outside a private address.

Detective Senior Sergeant Veronica McPherson said a firearm was understood to have been involved.

Hato Hone St John treated two patients and transported them to hospital, one in a critical condition and one with moderate injuries.

In an update today, McPherson said police were now seeking the public’s assistance to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident

McPherson said the two people who required medical attention were now understood to both be in a stable condition.

An injured person was initially taken to the nearby Māngere Community Health Centre on Waddon Pl before being transported to hospital.
