Kiwi Olympic great Dame Lisa Carrington has welcomed her first child, saying she and husband Michael 'Bucky' Buck are "completely in love" with their newborn daughter.
The 37-year-old kayaker, New Zealand's most decorated Olympian, announced the birth with a post to social media today.
"Our beautiful baby girl is here," she wrote in the caption of the video accompanied by Six60's song Rivers.
"We are completely in love."
Dame Lisa had already ruled herself out of this year's world championships after revealing her pregnancy, but said she was still targeting the LA 2028 Olympic Games.
In April she described pregnancy as an adjustment.
"Pregnancy so far has been a real learning curve - but feeling very lucky and very excited for what's to come."
Dame Lisa has won eight Olympic gold medals across four Games, including three in Tokyo and three more in Paris in 2024.
