Armed police have cordoned off a street in Dunedin and taken one person into custody after a firearms incident this afternoon.
Police said the incident on Tedder St in the suburb St Kilda was reported at about 2.50pm on Sunday.
“Armed police are in attendance out of an abundance of caution with one person in custody,” they said.
There were no reported injuries.
The street is cordoned off between Bay View Rd and New St and the public was asked to avoid the area.
