Police are seeking a good Samaritan who reported an incident involving a man and woman in central Wellington earlier this week.
Around 6pm on Monday, September 28, a man at an arcade on Courtenay Pl alerted staff to an incident he had witnessed involving a man and woman, police said.
The staff contacted police.
A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with making an intimate visual recording and failing to carry out obligations in relation to a computer search.
The man who reported the incident was believed to have been with his daughter but had left before police arrived.
“While charges have been filed, a statement to Police from the man who reported this matter remains absolutely crucial to our investigation,” Constable James Hopgood said.
“We thank him for reporting what he did so quickly, which has helped lead to a quick arrest – however, we are appealing to him to come forward to help us further.”
The man involved or anyone who knows who the man might be has been asked to contact police on 105.
