Emergency services have rushed to a popular Western Australian beach following a suspected fatal shark attack.
Ambulance crews attended Perth's Sorrento beach about 10.30am on Friday after reports of a shark incident.
Three crews have since been stood down and police have taken over the scene.
Water Police and the Police Air Wing have been deployed.
Police will officially confirm further details once they have established the circumstances of the incident.
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development will also be involved in the investigation.
Bathers are not permitted to enter the water at the popular swimming spot and have been urged to take caution on the sunny 26C day.
A man was also rushed to hospital on Monday following a shark attack on a remote Western Australia beach.
Emergency services responded to Glenfield Beach, north of Geraldton in the state''s Mid West, shortly after 9.45am on Monday.
The man, who is in his 50s, was rushed to nearby Geraldton Health Campus under lights and sirens.
The surfer was seriously injured but is now in a stable condition.
Surf Lifesaving WA's helicopter shark patrols began for summer last week.
