Lindis Pass.

Two people are injured, one critically, after a crash involving a campervan and a car on the Lindis Pass this afternoon expected to close the road for several hours.

Emergency services were called to the scene on State Highway 8 between Cluden Creek Rd and Phillips Rd at around 3.05pm on Friday.

"One person reportedly suffered critical injuries, and another suffered serious injuries," a police spokesperson said.

NZTA extended the closure at 4.15pm to cover between Omarama and Tarras.

"At the crash site, road users should follow the directions of emergency services; otherwise, people are encouraged to delay their travel or to take an alternative route."
