A Queensland woman allegedly took on other people's traffic infringements for cash, racking up thousands of tickets and fines in her name over four years.
Queensland police said the 27-year-old offered to take on other people's fines and demerits for payment, advertising the scheme on social media,
Between 2022 and June 2026, the woman had 1266 traffic infringements worth $620,000 in fines transferred into her name. This resulted in 1150 demerit points against her licence.
In Queensland, licences can be suspended after incurring just 12 demerits.
Detective Superintendent Craig McGrath said the woman was profiting from drivers wanting to avoid suspensions.
“Many of those allegedly using these services should have had their licences suspended but were instead able to continue driving on our roads.”
The woman appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court yesterday and was remanded in custody.
