The family of a Christchurch woman who failed to return from her morning walk is very worried for her welfare, with police now appealing for public help to find her.
Stacey left her Redgrave St home in Hoon Hay between 8am and 9am yesterday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Dan Overend said the walks were part of her daily routine.
"Her walks are typically no longer than two hours," he said.
When family could not reach her, they contacted friends, relatives and associates, but nobody could account for where she was, according to police.
"This behaviour is out of character, and her family is becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare," Overend said.
The detective also made a direct appeal to Stacey.
"If you see this message, please contact your family or police to let somebody know you are safe.
"Your family is extremely worried about you and wants to know that you are OK."
Police were "particularly interested" in hearing from anyone who may have seen Stacey yesterday around the Redgrave St area, or elsewhere in Hoon Hay.
They also wanted to hear from anyone who contacted her since she left home.
People with information were urged to call 105.
