Full video: Police give update on fatal Sylvia Park shooting

Police are due to give an update to reporters this evening after a man was shot dead at Auckland's Sylvia Park Shopping Centre.

The armed man was heading towards the entrance of the mall when he was shot by police around 2.50pm.

First aid was carried out but he was pronounced dead at the scene, Superintendent Sunny Patel said.

A restaurant worker at the mall told 1News they heard multiple gunshots as a major police presence swarmed the mall carpark.
