A person has sustained serious injuries after being stabbed in the abdomen at a bar in central Wellington over the weekend.
Police said the incident occurred at 1.30am on Saturday at the Ace of Spades Bar on Allen St, near Courtenay Place.
Detective Senior Sergeant Tim Leitch said there was a fight involving a small number of patrons.
The victim was stabbed in the abdomen and sustained serious injuries, he said.
"Bar security staff separated the parties and provided immediate aid to the victim. He remains in hospital in a stable condition."
Leitch said police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the December 13 incident, along with anyone who may have video footage.
"Additionally, we’d like to speak with anyone who has information regarding those involved in this altercation."
