A 45-year-old man has been arrested and charged after allegedly stabbing another man known to him in the west Auckland suburb of Henderson yesterday.
Police began inquiries after a man was found with serious injuries after allegedly being stabbed off Edsel Street shortly before 3pm.
Waitematā CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Megan Goldie said a person of interest known to the victim came to the Henderson Poliuce Station last night and was taken into custody.

"Police have charged the 45-year-old man with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm," she said.
He would appear in the Waitākere District Court today.

The victim remained in a stable condition at Auckland City Hospital.
Goldie thanked frontline and CIB staff who "worked to apprehend the offender as quickly as possible".
