Four people have been injured after a car and motorcycle crashed south of Auckland this afternoon.
The incident happened on Mill Road in the Bombay Hills about 12.30pm, police said.
One person has been critically injured, while three others received minor injuries and were not taken away by ambulance, St John told 1 NEWS.
A spokesperson for the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust said the motorcyclist was a man in his 50s, and that he had suffered multiple injuries including a serious head injury.
The road is closed, diversions are in place and motorists have been advised to avoid the area.
