The bodies of a woman and child have been found outside a 30-storey high-rise apartment tower.
The woman was found unresponsive outside on Prospect St in Box Hill, in Melbourne's eastern suburbs, about 6.20pm on Thursday evening.
Police rushed to the scene where they located the woman's body on the footpath and an unresponsive primary school aged child nearby.
The pair could not be revived and died at the scene.
The area has been cordoned off with crime scene tape as detectives investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
