'Dangerous' man who skipped compassionate bail back in custody

A 22-year-old man considered dangerous who failed to return to prison after the courts granted him compassionate bail is back in custody.

Cain Te-Kahurangi Hanara was bailed on October 15 and had a warrant out for his arrest.

In an update on Friday, police confirmed the 22-year-old sought for failing to return to prison was back in custody.

"The 22-year-old man was arrested in west Auckland overnight," a police spokesperson said.

Officers thanked the public for their assistance in the appeal.
