The Warriors’ ISP side notched a hard-fought 20-18 win over the Newtown Jets in atrocious conditions at North Harbour Stadium today.

The match saw star prop James Gavet make his return after a month off due to issues with his hamstring and ribs.

1 NEWS learned former Titans hooker Karl Lawton is a strong chance to make his Warriors’ NRL debut as Issac Luke's replacement, after a strong showing in the win over the Jets.

The prop got through 40 odd minutes for the reserve grade side in his comeback from hamstring and rib cartilage injuries. (Source: Other)

The Warriors face the Tigers next weekend at Mt Smart.
