Eight people have been arrested after police launched a drug operation linked to the Head Hunters gang.
The arrests are part of an ongoing methamphetamine operation called 'Operation Boeing' which began last year.
It "focused on a patched member of the Head Hunters West Chapter who was allegedly involved in importing Actifed from Fiji and overseeing a range of people involved in manufacturing and distributing methamphetamine through our communities", a police spokesperson said.
Actifed contains a product used in manufacturing methamphetamine.
It was smuggled into New Zealand on a container vessel.
A member of the vessel crew was arrested on December 10 with the patched member of the Head Hunters gang who were both charged with importing pseudoephedrine and possession of pseudoephedrine for supply.
They were in possession of the four kilograms of Actifed.
This morning five properties across Auckland were raided, which led to six more arrests that included four men aged 62, 39, 37 and 35, and two women aged 41 and 26.
The houses were located in Mount Eden, Pakuranga Heights, Mangere East, One Tree Hill and Papakura.
