A man has pleaded guilty to murder following the deaths of two people in Christchurch earlier this month.
Two people were found dead and two others seriously injured shortly before 1am on Saturday, October 10 at a social housing complex in Olliviers Road in Phillipstown.
58-year-old forklift operator Rodney Fallowfield pleaded guilty to four charges, including two of murder and one of intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The summary of facts was read at the High Court in Christchurch today outlining how Fallowfield had discovered his tyres had been slashed and had then gone to confront the four victims armed with a knife demanding to know who had done it.
He then produced the knife, stabbing one victim multiple times in the chest. They later died at the scene. He then attacked two others who survived.
The court heard the fourth victim had mobility issues and when Fallowfield moved to him he said "I'm going to enjoy this" before fatally stabbing him also.

The defendant left the complex and was arrested a short time later.
When asked in a police interview if he regretted his actions, he said he didn't and he would do it again if he had the chance.
Fallowfield was previously jailed in 2021 over the manslaughter of his wife Shirley Reedy.
They were on their honeymoon at the time.
Fallowfield will be sentenced in April next year.
