The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, is reportedly in talks to return to acting in what would be her first major role since her marriage to Prince Harry.
The Duchess's possible role, believed to be on the Guy Ritchie-created Netflix series The Gentlemen, remains unknown. The Guardian reports that no contracts have officially been placed.
The Gentlemen is a spin-off series of the 2019 film of the same name, which was also created by Guy Ritchie.
The reports come after the recent bombshell news that Harry and Meghan were moving back to the UK. They are rumoured to settle in the Cotswolds next month.
Their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 7, have been enrolled in a British school and are due to start in September
According to The Guardian, their supposed relocation in September is believed to result from Meghan's return to the screen, as much of The Gentlemen was filmed in the south-central region of England.
She made her official return to acting as a cameo of herself in Amazon's comedy Close Personal Friends alongside Brie Larson, Lily Collins and Jack Quaid.
This comes eight years after her final appearance in the hit show Suits, which aired in 2018, the same year as her marriage to Prince Harry.
In a 2022 interview with Variety, the Suits star revealed she was unlikely to go back to her old career, saying, "No. I’m done. I guess never say never, but my intention is to absolutely not".
Despite this, she and Prince Harry renewed a $100m deal with Netflix last year, the streaming platform where her lifestyle series With Love, Meghan was released.
It is also expected that the Duchess will attempt to expand her US-based brand As Ever, which specialises in lifestyle and cooking content.
A high-profile return to acting could boost the global reach of her products while the family lives in the UK.
There are no current plans for either the Duke or Duchess of Sussex to resume any roles as working royals.
The second season of The Gentlemen is set to premiere in September, with stars Theo James and Kaya Scodelario returning to the show.
