Rotorua triple homicide: Man charged with assault bailed

A man charged with assault in relation to a triple homicide in Rotorua has been granted bail.

Emergency services arrived at the home on High St in Glenholme shortly before 10.30pm on September 7.

They found the bodies of two young children, aged 3 years and 11 months old, along with a critically injured woman who died at the scene.

Police began a homicide investigation and a man in his early 20s appeared in the Rotorua District Court the following day, charged with assaulting a person in a family relationship.

He reappeared in court today and was granted electronically monitored bail.

Name suppression was ordered to continue until his next appearance in January.
