Police have named the two people found dead at separate properties near Reefton on the West Coast as investigations into their deaths continue.
They were 34-year-old Chelsey Anne Russell of Maimai and 45-year-old Samuel Frederick Bass of Crushington.
A homicide investigation was launched on Tuesday evening after two people were found dead at properties on State Highway 7, Rahu Saddle and Maimai Road.
"Police are providing wrap-around support to their loved ones at this difficult time," a police spokesperson said.
Detective Inspector Geoff Baber said police were not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident, but "our investigation into the matter continues".
