One person has died after a car hit a pedestrian in the carpark of a supermarket on Auckland's North Shore last night.
Emergency services were called to a car park at the intersection of Sunnynook Rd and Sycamore Dr in Sunnynook around 6.30pm.
"Sadly, despite best efforts, the pedestrian died at the scene," police said.
St John responded with an ambulance, an operations manager and a rapid response vehicle.
Images from the scene show a red vehicle with a large dent on the driver's side door and above the wheel.

The serious crash unit has been advised.
The area is closed while emergency services are at the scene.
