A fire has broken out at a house in the Dunedin suburb of Caversham this afternoon.
Images sent to 1News show a structure with orange flames billowing out of the side, and a thick plume of black smoke rising into the air.
Fire and Emergency NZ said it received a report of a house fire in Lookout Point at around 12.40pm, initially responding with four crews from Ravenbourne, Brighton, Port Chalmers and Outram.

"When crews arrived, they found the building well involved in fire," a Fire and Emergency NZ spokesperson said.
"Another two trucks were sent from Lookout Point and Roslyn."
Police and St John have been contacted for comment.
