A child reported missing while on holiday with his parents in New Plymouth has been found, police confirmed.

The 10-year-old boy was with his parents when they walked into a museum and thought he was behind them.

Police said his parents turned around and he was not there.

Just before 2pm, a central shift manager confirmed to 1News the boy had been located.
