A 39-year-old man has been charged with murder over the death of a woman in Tokoroa last month.
Police were called to an address on Hinau St after a woman was found unresponsive shortly before midnight on June 18.
Taupō Area Investigations Manager Detective Senior Sergeant Ryan Yardley said at the time "sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene".
Today he said: "Police can now name her as 47-year-old Michelle Tangimataiti, of Tokoroa."

The 39-year-old man has now been charged with her murder, and will appear in Tokoroa District Court today.
"Police continue to support Michelle’s family at this extremely difficult time," Yardley said.
