Police are hunting for the driver of a stolen vehicle that rammed a West Auckland store this morning, leaving the building damaged.
Police were called to a report of a burglary at a shop on West Coast Rd in the suburb of Glen Eden at around 7.05am.
Photos from the scene provided to 1News showed debris scattered on the footpath and metal barriers torn off by the force of the impact.
"A stolen vehicle has been used to force entry through the front of the store, causing significant damage," police said.
However, the offender did not enter the store and the car was found abandoned nearby.
"Police are making enquiries to identify and locate those involved."
