Police enquiries after person seriously injured at Whangārei party

Police are making enquiries after a person was seriously injured at a party in Whangārei overnight.

Officers were called to Forest View Road in Te Kamo at around 11.50pm.

"The victim was taken to hospital in a serious condition, but the injury is not believed to be life-threatening," police said.

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said one ambulance, one rapid response unit, and one manager were sent to the scene.

"Our crews assessed and treated one patient who was transported to Northland Base Hospital in a critical condition."

Police said: "Enquiries are ongoing."
