A security company has lost its licence after five guards working as doormen at Queenstown bars and clubs were among eight arrested in a two-month drug operation.
Police executed a series of search warrants across the Queenstown area in the last two months, seizing more than $120,000 in cash, over 60 grams of cocaine, and amounts of ketamine, GBL and MDA.
Detective Senior Sergeant Steve Salton said five of the men were security guards working as doormen at local bars and clubs, which resulted in a security company losing its licence.

"It’s disappointing to see that people working in roles intended to keep people safe, are in fact doing the opposite and causing huge amounts of community harm in the supply of these drugs."
He said further arrests could not be ruled out with inquiries ongoing.
"Police continue to investigate the supply of illicit drugs in the Queenstown area and anyone with information around this type of offending is urged to get in touch."
