Two dead, two injured after Northland crash

Two people have died and two people are injured following a crash in Hikurangi, Northland this evening.

Police said the two-vehicle crash occurred on State Highway 1 near King St, and was reported just after 3pm.

One person died at the scene, and a second person died in hospital a short time later, police said.

Two others were injured in the crash. One was in serious condition, and one was in minor condition.

State Highway 1 was closed for a time but had since reopened.
