Police are appealing for information and sightings of a small silver hatchback as they continue to investigate a man's death in Dargaville earlier this month.
A homicide investigation was launched following 64-year-old Garry Hazelton's death in his Dargaville home on October 7.
In an update today, Whangārei CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Shane Pilmer released details of a small silver hatchback similar to an early 2000s Nissan March which was seen in the area prior to Hazelton's death.
"This was described as being silver in colour and had been around the Hoeroa Street area in Dargaville," he said.
Police want any information or sightings of this vehicle between 5pm on October 5 until 5pm on October 7.
An image similar to the vehicle of interest was released, though police noted this was not the specific vehicle itself.
"If you have seen a vehicle like this in that area and have any information about that vehicle or its occupants, I ask you to come forward," Pilmer said.
"Our investigation is continuing into Hazelton’s murder at his property on Hoeroa Street, and the detectives remain motivated to identifying anyone responsible and holding them to account."
Anyone with information should contact police on 105.
