A manhunt is underway after two people were injured in a shooting in Gore yesterday evening.
Police were called to a house on Aparima Street after reports of gunshots shortly before 8pm.
Two people were airlifted to the hospital, one with serious injuries and one with moderate injuries.
Inspector Mike Bowman said police were still trying to locate the people or person involved, and urged anyone with information about what happened to come forward.
“We know there will be people in the community who know who did this, and we’re asking them to help us.
“This is clearly a serious incident, and police are treating all factors with urgency.”
Bowman said police did not believe there was any risk to other members of the community.
Those with information were asked to call police on 105.
A scene guard remained at the property, and a scene examination would take place today.
