Man arrested after allegedly ramming police car in Christchurch

A 37-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly ramming a police car and driving dangerously in Christchurch today.

Police said it received reports of a vehicle driving in a dangerous manner in Bromley at 12.45pm.

The vehicle was then observed heading south down Ferry Road before entering a carpark at a commercial premises.

“The driver has then rammed his vehicle into a police vehicle before driving south.”

The vehicle was later located on Major Hornbrook Road – and the driver was arrested at about 1.10pm.

Police said inquiries are ongoing, and a “range of charges are being considered”.
