Plumes of smoke billowed over the Auckland suburb of Massey last night as a house was consumed by fire.
Fire and Emergency crews were called to the scene on Red Hill Rd after receiving multiple calls just after 8.20pm.
A two-storey house was burning when four fire trucks arrived.
It's understood no people were in the house at the time.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said the blaze was contained by 9.30pm.

A fire investigator will be at the scene today – alongside police, who were "making enquiries".
"Due to a number of people at the cordon, including gang members, specialist police were in attendance to ensure everyone's safety," a police spokesperson said in a statement.
"At this stage, the fire is being treated as unexplained and enquiries by emergency services will continue this morning to determine the full circumstances."
