Detectives have charged a 26-year-old Ōtāhuhu man over the violent incident in Point England's Taurima Reserve on August 5.

A fourth man has been charged with murder over the gang-linked shooting of Charles Pongi at an Auckland reserve.

Detectives charged the 26-year-old Ōtāhuhu man over the violent incident in Point England's Taurima Reserve on August 5.

The victim was a 32-year-old Head Hunters member. Police said the event was an "appalling display of violence".

The latest arrest comes as detectives carried out over 14 search warrants across Tāmaki Makaurau over the last week, Detective Inspector Glenn Baldwin said.

"The investigation team remains determined to seek justice on behalf of the Pt England community.

"Whilst Police have charged four men with murder and several others with subsidiary and related offending, we are not done yet."

Baldwin said there is hope that news of further arrests brings reassurance to the community.

"We still have a lot of work ahead of us as we review the further evidence gathered as a result of these search warrants.

"The Police investigation remains ongoing and further arrests and serious charges are likely."

People who have been charged with murder in relation to the incident include a 20-year-old man from Avondale, a 24-year-old man from Favona, and a 24-year-old man from Mt Albert.

Other arrests over the shooting include a 28-year-old man who was arrested on August 8 for breaching his electronically monitored bail in relation to the incident, and a 26-year-old Weymouth man on firearms charges.

Pongi's funeral also saw a number of arrests made and vehicles seized.
