One person dead following crash on SH1 in Picton

One person has died following a crash on State Highway 1 in Picton on Friday.

Police said the single vehicle crash was reported around 10:15am, between Wairau Road and Lindens Road.

The person was taken to Wairau Hospital, where they have since died.

Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
